Dani received her first mail today - addressed to Dani and her parents! And her first gifts not from her grandparents! Elliot is realizing how much stuff is associated with having kids. Our house will look quite different a few weeks from now!
Right now the dining room is the packing room - all supplies (meds, snacks, diapers, wipes, etc.), donations, etc. going to China with us. Everything except our clothes. What's there doesn't all fit on the extended table - so we have a card table in there also!
We received our Letter of Invitation to Travel to China today in the mail from our agency - they received it last Wednesday from China. It's actually a beautiful document to look at - Dani's photo is right on it! We're supposed to bring it with us along with copies of it - one of many, many, many documents that we need to bring. It's 75% organized - just a few more things to do and that's ready to go. I'm aiming for as little thinking there as possible about paperwork so we can concentrate on thinking about Dani.
We are so blessed not only to have wonderful family and friends, but also this amazing network of support among other families that have adopted children from China. Whatever concern or question we might have someone else has probably experienced it. It's been a great source of comfort and putting my mind at ease about some of the unknowns.
